Lazy weekend...

It's been a lazy weekend in the Savage household. We relaxed at home, watched OSU beat Iowa (to go to the Rose Bowl!) on TV and ate some ice cream, while playing the girls! We visited Autie Aubrey and Kevin's new apartment, Brian cut down some dead trees in the yard and we had dinner with friends...all in all a nice weekend! I posted a few pictures below...

This is one that I left out of the baptism post, accidentally. It's a great group shot from our family dinner the night before the baptism!
The girls are getting more and more mobile and I'm sure they will be crawling very soon. For now, the roll everywhere, scoot and never seem to end up in the same place that I left them... Mommy and Macy getting some sleeping cuddle time in...perhaps one of my favorite moments!
Out for an evening walk!
In other news, we are hoping to move into our new house in January! We close on our beautiful new home in mid-December and hope to do a slow move after Christmas! We can't wait to have more space and enjoy our terrific new neighborhood! We are so excited and here it is...

A tooth!

Okay, so before we get to the BIG news, let me fill you in on the events from the past week. Last weekend we spent Saturday at our good friends, Rob and Judy's house. They have an annual paintball party, where the guys go into their woods and play several games of hardcore paintball, while the ladies, eat, drink, and chat. The weather was great, so we enjoyed a nice bonfire, some good food and watched the OSU game in the barn. There were quite a lot of people there, so we had lots of helpers with the girls and also a large flock of teenage girls who were totally into the girls... Here's a picture of the the action!

Here is Stacy, feeding Macy

Thanks to Rob and Judy for a terrific day! We had a blast!

Okay, so now for the BIG news!! We have a tooth! I had no idea that we were getting close, but this morning, while Macy was whining at me, I saw a white spot on her bottom gum. I immediately stuck my finger in there and sure enough, there was the tip of a tooth just poking through! She was never fussy or anything! Sadie looks like she's not far behind! So, with their 1/2 Birthday quickly approaching, reality is setting in that my babies are getting big VERY quickly! So here's a grumpy picture of my big girl. I tried to get a picture of the tooth, but that did not work out to well, so here she is....

A Baptism weekend!

Okay, so I heard some people were actually waiting for this post (people actually follow my blog? Who knew!?!?), so here it is....the baptism weekend! It was perhaps the busiest week/weekend on record and the girls ended the weekend with huge, dark circles under their eyes from all of the excitement! Between Halloween, Daylight Savings Time, all the visitors in town and the baptism, I think that we were all completely worn out. But the weekend was a blast and it was so nice to have so many friends and family around us!

The night before the baptism we went out as a family to House of Japan for dinner. The girls LOVED watching the chef cook our meal and their eyes got so huge when he lit the fire on the cooktop! It was a lot of fun and definitely somewhere that we will continue to take the girls!

Here's Auntie Aubrey and Kevin! These kids are moving out and into their own apartment in a few weeks, since Kevin got a terrific new job here in Columbus!! The girls will have to go visit their new place (i.e. Mom and Dad get a night away)!
Uncle K.C. and Macy!
Grandma, Grampy, Uncle K.C. and Sadie!
And now, the day of the baptism! The girls did so well and didn't make a peep! I think Kelley got a workout holding our "Mexican jumping bean," Sadie all morning! The girls looked adorable in their Christening dresses! Here are their terrific Godparents, Kelley with Sadie and Frank with Macy. We are so happy to have such wonderful people taking part in our daughters' lives...

The desserts and champagne reception at Muirfield Village was great and the cakes that were made for the girls turned out incredible! They were just beautiful! I think we were all on a sugar high, but it all tasted so good! Here's the chocolate fountain and cakes...

After a short rest, we all went to my dad's hotel pool for some real food (pizza!) and a swim. The girls have never been in the pool before, so Brian and I got in with them! Macy really seemed to enjoy it, but Sadie wasn't so sure! They looked ADORABLE in their swim suits!!

We're having a relaxing week at home and trying hard to get back into our routines and schedule after a busy weekend. The girls have been a little thrown off by daylight savings, but I'm hoping we'll be back on schedule in no time...

We're so sad that we won't be seeing any of the CT grandparents until Christmas and we GREATLY miss them! It's so hard to be away from them, but we can't wait to see them again!

Halloween!

And now, the post I know you've all been waiting for...the girls dressed up for Halloween!!! Beggar's Night in Columbus was this Thursday, so the girls put on their costumes. I don't think I've ever seen a cuter little ladybug (Sadie) and busy bumblebee (Macy)! They were a huge hit in their costumes at Shelly's house and greeted the trick 'or treaters! I wish they could wear their costumes every day, because they were the most adorable bugs I've ever seen! Be warned, this post contains a LOT of pictures, because they were too cute to choose...

Wasn't that the cutest post ever!?!? Can't wait for next Halloween when the girls will be walking and can go Trick 'or Treating themselves! Although I don't know how we will ever find costumes that will top these ones! Happy Halloween!

It's Fall in Ohio!

It's officially fall in Ohio (although it feels like winter!). The leaves are mostly down and the pumpkins are out! We had a few nice days where the girls and I were able to get outside and enjoy the pretty colors and play in the leaves! Here are a few pictures of the girls (and Bogey) with our pumpkins. They really liked to touch them and lick them!

Sadie and the pumpkin...
As you can see, we've started to do some sitting up in our household! The girls can sit for a few seconds, unassisted, before toppling over and sit pretty well if they have something to hold on to! They look like such big girls when they do it! I need to go out and get some toys that are more fun for babies who sit up, as we mainly have "little baby" toys around here!
Brian and I were able to get out and enjoy a favorite fall activity and go to the Buckeye's game this Saturday! We really enjoyed spending the day together, despite the rainy and cold weather and the girls got to spend the day playing with Grandma Heidi and Auntie Aubrey!
A rare picture of Mom and Dad, with NO babies! Don't we look happy!?!?
Sadie has started rolling onto her belly in her sleep, which is a bit scary for Mommy, but she seems to like it. I've gone back to getting up several times a night, since I worry about her and get up to check on her often. I know that I'll eventually get used to it, but after being told so often by the pediatrician, parenting books, etc. that babies have to sleep on their backs, this new trick makes me worry! Altough I called the pediatrician and they assured me that once she is rolling onto her tummy herself, that she is fine and there really isn't much I can do. Here is what she looked like in the morning, when we first discovered her new abilies...
We also started cereal this week. Can you believe how many new things are happening all at once?!? I feel like my babies are growing up so quickly! It makes me kind of sad! They don't really like the cereal alone, but with a tiny bit of applesauce, it's a huge hit!
Here's Macy enjoying her breakfast in her big girl highchair!
Sadie saying "mmmmm..."

All in all it's been a great week! Brian and I had a date evening on Friday night and we dropped the girls off with their favorite babysitters, Jon and Megan. Brian and I got to enjoy a drink and some appetizers for a few hours while the girls played! I'm sure they just do it to be nice, but J&M practically beg us to drop the girls off sometimes, so we gladly take the opportunity! They are terrific with the girls and it means a lot to us to have a few hours to ourselves! So, thanks guys!

Halloween is coming up in a few days and I don't know about the girls, but I'm so excited to dress them in their costumes!! Pictures coming soon...

Back from CT and 5 months!

Well we're back from CT and we had a great time. We decided to do the driving through the night, which was exhausting (mainly for Brian) but worth it. The girls slept straight through the 10 hour drive and seemed to adjust quite well once we arrived to CT. On the way there, Brian's sister, Sarah, followed us on her way to Boston. It was nice to have the company, but we were sad to see her go, as we will miss having her here in Ohio! The wedding we attended was beautiful and it was wonderful to see old friends. Our friends Rachel and Paul met the girls for the first time and did a great job playing with them! My mom and Chuck seemed to enjoy every second of their time with the girls and they also spent time at my Dad's house and met his dog, Augie. All in all, it was a terrific trip and the girls did much better than I had anticipated. Now, Brian and I just need to catch up on some sleep!

In other news, the girls turned 5 months old today! They are growing and changing so fast! We started rice cereal today, which they don't seem to enjoy quite yet and we're working on trying to sit up. They are wearing 9-12 month clothes already and they are just so much fun right now!

We have a busy few weeks ahead. We can't wait for Halloween and you all will just have to wait for pictures to find out the girls' costumes! I'm a bit concerned as to how to adjust the girls' schedules for daylight savings, so that they still sleep on their normal schedule, but we'll see how it goes! Their baptism is coming up on November 1st and we are looking forward to seeing family and friends!
