Emily and Brian! 9.10.11 Wedding!

This is going to be picture overload, but there were just too many fabulous pictures to share from our trip to Minnesota for Emily and Brian's wedding weekend!

We had an amazing trip to MN and it went by way too fast. The girls were such troopers and stayed up late several nights in a row, were completely off schedule and still managed to keep their underwear dry during the whole trip (except for during the rehearsal dinner, when Macy's tummy was a little upset). The girls had so much fun playing with cousins, dancing, and seeing all of their family. They are totally exhausted, but I know they loved every second and so did we!

The first day/evening of our trip we had a cookout at Great-Grandma's house. The girls' second cousin Beckett came over to play, with his little sister, Harper and many other family members too! Beckett and the girls did countless laps throughout the yard and really enjoyed playing together.

Night 2 was the Rehearsal Dinner and the girls looked adorable in their pink dresses and silver sequined, Stuart Weitzman shoes!
The rehearsal dinner was on a chartered dinner cruise boat and the girls loved it. They enjoyed seeing the other boats, birds and pointed out every buoy on the lake!
Aunt Sarah and Sadie got to help drive the boat too!
Macy, getting tired, but still hanging in there!
Grampy and Sadie as the night comes to a close!

It's wedding time! The girls again looked fabulous for the big day. They were so excited to see the wedding and most importantly, ride the shuttle bus from our parking spot to Aunt LeeAnne and Uncle Harry's house.

Despite it being over 2 hours past bedtime, the girls were dancing MACHINES. They danced non-stop for at least and hour and I don't know about them, but I was exhausted!

The last day of our trip and time for the post-wedding brunch! Here is Macy, looking a little worn out from our busy weekend, but still adorable!

We couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable weekend in MN and had such a blast. I'm so proud of my girls and how well they did with all of the excitement and activity. We miss our MN family already and can't wait to plan another trip to visit. Until then, we'll look forward to seeing them next June (for Aubrey's wedding) and have such great pictures and memories from Emily and Brian's weekend of wedding fun!

First Day!

So today was the day, the girls very first day of preschool! We have been talking about school forever and they were so excited all morning long. Poor Sadie woke up with a rash on her face and while she wasn't looking her best, she was still eager to get to school!

On this first day, the girls were only supposed to be there for one hour (opposed to 2.5 on every other day) and parents were supposed to stay as well, to help them acclimate. The girls met a new friend named Maggie, made place mats for snack time, played outside, used building blocks and listened to two stories, while sitting "criss-cross-applesauce (well, most of the time). Macy loved using the new potties at school and went to the potty at least 3 times. Sadie had one accident on the playground, but did really well the rest of the morning. They really like their teachers and I think they are going to have an even better day, when I'm not there. I'm so excited to see everything that they are going to learn over this year. My girls are getting so big!

Potty Training x 2

So, we've started the dreaded task of potty training. I had no intention of beginning training this weekend, but I had bought all necessary supplies since I knew it was something that we would try soon. However, when the girls woke up on Saturday, they asked for "big kid undies." We had bought some at Target that week, so they knew that we had them in the house. I couldn't deny their request, so thus we began on our weekend potty training adventure.

We are using the "3-day potty training" method, except that we aren't night/nap training at the moment. This method claims to have your kids trained in 3 days and during those three days, you are locked down inside your house, living and breathing the potty. It encourages the child to tell you when they need to use the potty, so instead of asking, "do you need to pee?," the phrases "tell mommy if you need to potty!!" and "Are your undies dry?" have been said no less than a trillion times this weekend.

Well, it's day 3 and I can't say that we are potty trained, but things are improving. We are accident free this morning and I think that the girls are starting to get the hang of it. I have learned a few things in the process. One, I was absolutely NUTS to take on this task alone. The large majority of our accidents have occurred while I am helping one child with the potty and while the other is left unattended, they decide to pee on my carpet. Two, you can never own too many pairs of undies. We've gone through a whole lot this weekend and every heart, ballerina, stripe and flower pair have been peed on. And three, I greatly underestimated the difficulty of potty training. I blew off others horror stories and complaints thinking that my two kids would take this transition with ease. Boy was I wrong...potty training x 2 has left me wanting to poke my eyes out!
