Merry Day After Christmas!

Hello all! We had an amazing Christmas yesterday and here I am blogging from from my favorite Christmas present, my new computer, the Mac Book Pro! I LOVE it and it should make posting pictures to the blog a whole lot faster and easier! The girls, of course, ended up with more presents than we will even be able to bring home with us...including bags and bags of clothes, toys, books and even some tooth fairy pillows with their initials on them (Grammy buys things a little prematurely)! Brian and I were again spoiled with clothing, purses and of course my computer (from Brian)! So, it was a great Christmas for all!

On Christmas Eve, the girls got dressed in their Christmas dresses to attend all of the Christmas parties that I've been attending since I was the girls age. It was bittersweet, since this is the last year we will be attending, since next year we will be spending Christmas at home in Ohio. I'm doing my best to convince Brian that we need to host a Christmas Eve party starting next year, since this is a tradition that I love!

And now, for the pictures...

It's beginning to look at lot like Christmas...

Yes, from the minute Thanksgiving is over, all I can think about it Christmas! I'll admit that the Christmas music has been playing in our house since the week BEFORE Thanksgiving this year. It's by far my favorite time of year and I can't wait to celebrate with the girls this year. So, to add to my excitement, when we woke this morning it was snowing! The girls were absolutely fascinated watching the first snow of the season and looked out the windows all morning...

But, I suppose before getting too excited about Christmas, I should post our pictures of Thanksgiving. We started our morning with an annual tradition...watching Macy's own parade on TV!

And here's the star of the show herself, watching the parade that is just for her...
The girls got dressed in their Thanksgiving best and continued to watch festive TV shows, while we cooked and prepped for the big dinner to come!
With a little creative planning we were able to get the table set for 12 and it looked fabulous!
Macy enjoyed trying on Grammy's pretty earrings
And Daddy took the turkey outside to put into the fryer, while Grandpa Chuck stood back prepared for disaster (fire extinguisher in hand!)...
However, there was no need to panic, because the turkey frying went off without a hitch and turned out wonderfully...
Then the guests started arriving and getting excited for our feast...
And the food turned out wonderfully...

All in all, it was a perfect Thanksgiving! We had a massive amount of food and we are still eating leftovers in this household! But, most of all, I'm happy that the day marked the official beginning of the Christmas season!
Oh and one last picture, because it's VERY cute...a sisterly hug...their new favorite thing to do!

Happy Halloween!

Yes, yes, I know that Halloween is still 2 days away....but, Ohio seems to be the only place that celebrates on a designated "Beggar's Night" each year, so the girls went Trick or Treating last night!!!

Before we get to the Trick or Treating pictures, I will share a quick few from last weekend. We actually began our Halloween celebration while Paul and Rachel were in town and we took the girls to the zoo for "Boo at the Zoo!" We had a blast!

This is the only picture I got of Paul and Rachel while they were visiting, because we were just so busy! The girls LOVED spending time with Paul and Rachel and Macy especially took a huge liking to Paul! She talked about "Pawww" for days after they left! I hope that spending time with the girls got P & R even more excited for their little girl's arrival in January, but perhaps it terrified them a little too! :)
Here are my pumpkins headed into the zoo!
Pumpkins watching Daddy!
The girls loved this brown bear!
He was eating a Halloween pumpkin! Thankfully it wasn't one of my tasty "pumpkins!"
It was a chilly night for Trick or Treating, but we set up a bonfire in the fire pit, had warm spiced cidar and sat in the driveway waiting for the kids to arrive!! Here are the girls getting ready to take a ride in the wagon!
Macy Moo!
Sadie Bear!
Two small pumpkins and one big Pumpkin (Grammy)!
Getting ready to take the girls Trick or Treating. They LOVED ringing the doorbells and even tried to walk right into a few houses! We'll have to work on perfecting our trick or treating skills next year!
Happy Halloween!!!

Wish I had more pictures!

I wish I had more pictures to share with you, since it's been a while since my last post, but the girls are so busy and active at the moment, that if I take a second to pop behind my camera lens, I risk either losing one of my kids or someone getting hurt. So, unfortunately, it's a rare occassion that I actually get to snap a picture these days!

Despite the lack of proof, we have been very busy! The girls and I plan at least one activity per day and the weather has been fabulous for outdoor play and walks. Today, we tested out a cool place that we've been scoping out for the winter months. It's called Recreation Outlet and it's a place that sells large play equipment and outdoor toys. They have the inside set up as a huge show room of all of the items and they allow kids to come in a play on everything! It gets a little busy, but it's going to be great for getting out some energy as the weather gets cooler.

We went today and had a blast. It was a little crazy trying to chase after and keep track of my two kids, amongst a million other playing children, but the girls enjoyed themselves and I certainly got a workout!

Since the only time I seem to be able to safely snap pictures these days is when the girls are "contained," here's a picture of my impatient girls at the car dealership, when we brought my car in for servicing. Thankfully, since they rarely get to watch TV, they were fairly enamored with the cartoons playing in the waiting room!
And one last picture to share! A few weekends ago, we traveled to CT for my step-sister, Kate's, wedding. It was a long drive and BUSY weekend, but as usual, the girls far exceeded my expectations. They were flexible with our travels and never got cranky as we kept them up well past bedtime for the rehearsal dinner and other events. They really are terrific during travel, which I very much appreciate!! Here we are at the rehearsal dinner. Don't the girls look adorable?!? Oh and I should mention that this picture was taken at 8:30 pm (1.5 hours past bedtime) and they are still smiling!
We are so excited to have some of our oldest friends, Paul and Rachel, come to visit this weekend. We have a fun weekend planned and I can't wait!!! Paul and Rachel are expecting their first child in February (a little girl!), so we hope to give them a quick taste of parenthood while they are here! And a huge early thank you to Grandma and Auntie Aubrey, as they will be on babysitting duty a lot this weekend, while we get out for some much needed adult time with our friends!! I promise to "try" and take some pictures!

Catching up!

Well the end of summer is here, but we've still been having lots of fun!!

Both the neighborhood and our country club pools sadly closed on Labor Day, but we ended the swimming season with a splash....for Bogey! Our country club opened up it's pool the day after it closed, for dogs to go for a swim! The girls and I took Bogey and we all had a great time!
It took Bogey a while to warm up to the diving board ramp into the pool...
But he eventually got the idea and jumped right in! The girls loved watching all of the doggies taking the plunge!
Despite the fact that Fall has arrived, our temperatures have still been HOT! Now that the "big kids" have gone back to the school, we decided to check out the neighborhood splash park for the very first time! We had the whole thing to ourselves and had a blast!
Well, Sadie had a blast!
Sadie, my "water-bug!"

Macy finally decides to check things out!

My girls! They loved watching the water go down the drain!
In other news, the girls turned 16 months a few days ago! They are changing so much everyday it seems, especially in language development. New words in our house include, Zoos (shoes) and kaka (cracker) by Sadie and boop/boopy (poop/poopy) by Macy! Ha! They are growing up fast!!
