My sister is tasty!

The girls are always trying to eat one another. It's so funny and always makes me laugh...

This morning Macy tried to eat Sadie while she was sleeping...

"Mmmm...her nose is good...she'll never know if I take a bite..."

Here are a few pictures of the girls playing on the bed in the morning. We love mornings because they both are so happy and smiling. Daddy often has a hard time leaving for work because he doesn't want to leave his happy girls!

And one last one of Sadie...because it's cute!

A few more from the 2 month pictures...

One of Bogey, because we can't forget about him!

Check out how much bigger they look from their one month picture in a post below. We go for our 2 month pediatrician visit (which includes shots...ouch!) on Friday...I can't wait to find out how much they've grown.

2 months...

The girls are two months old. Macy was a bit cranky and Sadie is content with her pacifier. She has a bit of an oral fixation...always happy when eating or sucking on her pacifier or hand (or sometimes her sister)...

Sadie

Macy (please ignore the wet outfit...that's pretty typical on Macy, since she always spits up...)

My mom and Chuck came back for a long weekend visit to let us get some rest. The girls had been sleeping quite well (about a 6 hour stretch), but seem to have gone through a bit of a regression and I was exhausted. Mom and Chuck came to the rescue and I got to stay a night at their hotel room and get some rest, while they watched the girls (Brian was out of town on business). Even better, the next night Brian and I got a night away, while they stayed with the girls again. It was great to get two full nights of sleep and we're sad that they had to leave so quickly. There is nothing like having your mom around to take care of you!

Both the girls have started smiling at us often. Here's a great one of Macy smiling and a cute picture of Sadie (I haven't captured her huge smile on camera yet)...

8 weeks...

The girls will be 8 weeks tomorrow. I can't believe it! While our lives are still crazy and we're so looking forward to getting more sleep, we've started to settle into a pretty good routine and things are so much easier than they were in the first month! I can only hope another month will continue to bring about such significant change!

Last night was the first night we tried moving the girls into their own room and own cribs. Until now, they've slept in the same bassinett in our room. They are just getting too big and moving too much. I can't say that the night went all that smoothly as they were up a lot and I was a nervous wreck, but I've been putting them in there for naps today, so I'm hoping tonight will go a little better and we'll get the 5 straight hours of sleep we were getting.

This past weekend we went to the Antique Auto Show and listened to the concert and enjoyed some good company. Our good friend Hailey (Frank and Kelly's teenage daugther) and her
friend Candace were a huge help with the girls and enjoyed all the attention.

Sadie enjoying laying on the blanket

Macy sleeping peacefully in the carseat. She LOVES being out and aroud a lot of noise!

I love taking pictures of the girls sleeping, so here are a few from the past week. It makes me so sad that they aren't sleeping in the same crib anymore, but I do think it's for the best!

Brian has always been so shocked at how much Macy resembles her Daddy. He is always pointing out their similarities and we can't wait to see if she continues to look so much like him! Here is a picture that Brian loves, since their hands look so much alike!

A few more pictures

For the girls' first Fourth of July we went to the Ostrander parade with our good friends Travis, Sarah, Wesley, Shelly and Alexis. We ran into several other friends and had a great time. Here's Brian pushing the double stroller! We get lots of attention when people see us coming. Everyone is fascinated with baby twins!

Alexis and Shelly holding the girls during the parade! Later in the evening the girls went to the Dublin Fireworks and their first Fourth of July concert...

The girls like to fall asleep in the mornings in their Boppy pillows. They always look so cute!

We used to give the girls baths seperately in the kitchen sink. After a few weeks, we decided this was too time consuming and decided to try doing them together in the bath. They LOVE it and it saves a lot of time each night!

Sadie

Macy

A few days ago, Heidi was nice enough to come over and watch the girls while I ran to run some errands. When my trip took longer than expected and I wasn't back for feeding, she called in some back up help! Uncle K.C. hasn't been too eager to hold the girls and I know he wasn't thrilled to feed one either, but he did a great job!

This is a common picture in our house. Both girls fall asleep immediately when laying with their Daddy!

Entertaining the girls

A few days ago, just before Brian was due home from work (our favorite time to the day...extra hands and an adult to talk to!), both girls were wide awake and both were in a great mood, which is rather unusual at the same time! Neither were interested in their swing or bouncy seats and seemed to only want mommy time. So, I decided to lay them both on the couch and I began to dance and sing back and forth in front of the couch. After a while I decided to get in some more exercise and did squats and lunges back and forth in front of them while continuing to sing crazy made up songs! Had anyone come in the house at this time, I'm sure I would have looked like a total lunatic! Hey, you do what you have to do! Both girls seemed highly entertained and sat there for a good 30 minutes without any fussing! We may have to try that every day! Here are some pictures I took!

A look back at the last 7 weeks

It's so hard for me to believe how fast the last 7 weeks have gone. The girls have grown and changed so much and so have our lives. The first two weeks were complete chaos. Thank goodness my mom was here to help and Heidi came over often. After my mom left, the girls and I quickly got on a schedule and I was tossed into life managing twins while home alone. Thank goodness Heidi, Sarah and Aubrey come over often to help us, but it's pretty amazing to me that I can actually handle them by myself, as I NEVER thought it would be possible!

The girls eat pretty much every three hours during the day and I feed them at the same time, in order to stay on schedule. For those of you wondering, it takes a lot of creative positioning to feed them together when home alone. One day I'll have someone take a picture of how we do it! I started off feeding them in their carseats, but now, Sadie lays in her Boppy pillow (crescent shaped pillow) next to me on the couch while Macy lays on my bent knees and I hold their two bottles and take turns burping. The whole cycle takes about an hour to complete, but it works for us!

The girls have had many outings in their short seven weeks and we've experienced many "firsts". We've gone shopping, out to dinner, our first trip to the zoo, first Father's Day brunch, the first Fourth of July parade and concert. There was their first doctors appointment, their first bath, which they both managed to sleep through, their first "month birthday" (pictures below) and many others! They have both given us one or two "awake smiles" and really enjoy taking daily walks and looking at the ceiling fan! I can't wait to see how they continue to grow and change!

Sadie and Macy are one month old (June 19th)

The girls celebrate Father's Day with their Daddy at brunch!

The girls first trip for dinner at the club! They loved getting to ride in the back of a golf cart!
I'll add more later, hope you've enjoyed catching up with us so far!! Oh and last week at the doctor's, Sadie weighed 11 lbs 6 oz and Macy was 10 lbs 10 oz! They are getting so big!
