The Fourth of July

So, better late than never...here is our fabulous Fourth this year! Grammy came to town and we couldn't have been happier to have her! Of course, we had a jam packed weekend and it was a blast. Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures of everything and I wish that I had, because the girls had an absolutely wonderful time playing on the blow up slide and bounce houses at our Dublin Fireworks! However, I did remember to bring my camera for our annual tradition of going to the Ostrander parade. The girls were old enough this year to have their own seats and also to collect candy. They had so much fun!!

Franklin Park Conservatory

Today, Auntie Aubrey asked if she could take us to Franklin Park Conservatory to see the butterfly exhibit. We were really excited to go and the see the butterflies and the girls talked about it a lot! When we got there, the exhibit was gorgeous and there were plenty of butterflies to see and admire. Sadie loved it and Macy was fascinated, but when the butterflies came to close, she screamed and jumped around in a tizzy. She is such a girlie girl these days!

While the butterflies were gorgeous and my personal favorite of the trip, the girls were far more interested in the large Koi fish instead!

The conservatory was so cool and there were plenty of things to climb into, bridges to cross, waterfalls to play with and pathways to follow and the girls had a blast!
Thanks to Auntie Aubrey for coming up with a fun morning activity for the girls!!

Baking Cookies!

On this rainy Friday morning, the girls and I decided to bake Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies! The girls were so excited to help and so we put on their aprons and I gave them their own bowls filled with flour and some mixing tools to play with while they watched. Needless to say, this was a HUGE hit and they played for 45 mins, while making a large mess!

Ummm, do you think these two enjoyed the finished product or what!?! Totally worth the mess!!

Memorial Day Weekend!

Alright, so I'm finally getting caught up!! Summer is here and we've been busy...EVERY day!

We had an absolutely wonderful Memorial Day weekend. The pool on our street opened up and of course the girls and I needed to hit up the baby pool on opening day. The girls had an absolute blast and it was actually relaxing for Mommy this year! The girls are so independent in the water now, that I was actually able to sit down in a lounge chair and just watch them play...WONDERFUL!

To finish up our long weekend, we headed out into the country to visit some of our best friends, Travis and Sarah's new house. It was quite the drive our there, but we were greeted by a gorgeous day and some beautiful countryside. The girls had so much fun running around in the lawn and especially playing on the old swing set that was on the property. Unfortunately, Brian's allergies got the best of him, so we had to cut our visit short. But we really look forward to some fabulous summer days out there in the future!

Travis and Sarah's kids, Wesley and Eleanor

Memorial Day weekend marks the start of one of our favorite weeks here in Dublin, The Memorial Tournament. Thousands of people and hundreds of pro-golfers flock to Muirfield for our annual PGA tournament. I was able to bring the girls on Wednesday again this year and they really enjoyed actually watching some golf this year. Since daddy golfs so much, the girls love to talk about golfers, golf balls, and golf clubs and were very excited to see all of these things! Unfortunately, I forgot to snap any pictures on the only day of the tournament that cameras are allowed!!

Brian completed his scoring duties on Thursday and Saturday this year, which despite the ridiculous heat (he has to dress in long pants, long-sleeved shirt and tie! I don't know how he survived?!?), he really enjoys. One of the golfers in his Thursday group finished in the top 3 again this year, so perhaps he's a lucky scorer! On Saturday, I took 3 of my good friends (from my twin's playgroup) out to the tournament and we had a fabulous time eating lunch, watching some golf and relaxing without kids! As usual, tournament week was an absolute blast, but also exhausting, so we are all still recovering!

Happy 2nd Birthday!!!

We woke the girls up this morning by singing "Happy Birthday" and they were thrilled! These silly girls must think it's their birthday every day, since they heard it at their party on Sunday and we've been singing the song almost every day since!

But, here they are, my 2 YEAR OLDS! Wow!

Dressed in their birthday outfits and ready for morning playgroup!
These next few pictures were taken with my phone, so I apologize that the quality isn't terrific. Last year we started an annual birthday tradition of taking the girls to Muirfield Village for their birthday lunch. It's such a great time to be up at the club because everything is bustling and busy with the tournament being just weeks away. The course is in perfect condition and there are lots of golfers to watch and the girls love it! Hopefully we can do this every year for their birthday! Brian and I were even talking about how we'd one day probably be throwing a 16th or 18th birthday party at the club...now that is scary!!
One of the most special parts of their birthday lunch was their cake surprise. The club has a fabulous pastry chef, Meaghan, who has made many a cake for our events. Both last year and this year, when she heard that the girls were there for lunch, she managed to whip up the most special birthday treats! This year it was a jar full of cake balls on a stick! They looked awesome and tasted even better!!! What a special thing for our girls! So, that is our birthday day so far. I'll have more to post later!
